Fargesia robusta
This picture is of a two year old planting in one of our propagation beds. You can easily see how it is doubling in size from the previous years growth. It already has some shoots over 6′ tall. Fargesia robusta makes a narrow screen, being taller, more upright and more robust than some of the other Fargesia’s, particularly nitida and murielae. Ours are planted in the full sun, easily taking over 100º f. Dark green foliage and light green culms. New shoots are red. This bamboo adds great color to any garden.
