Common name: Temple bamboo.
This is the green form of the species Semiarundinaria fastuosa. Temple Bamboo is a tall, erect, columnar growing plant, to almost 35′, making it a great selection for narrow areas. Most of the foliage is on the top 1/2 to 1/3 of the culm. This variety of Temple Bamboo has green culms. Although a runner, it is not as aggressive as most bamboos. Temple bamboo makes a dense forming screen or hedge.
