Temple Bamboo is a tall, erect, columnar growing plant, to almost 35′, making it a great selection for narrow areas. Most of the foliage is on the top 1/2 to 1/3 of the culm, allowing a great view of the incredible colored culms. Temple Bamboo has green culms, but as they age they turn to purple/brown to almost brick red. Although a runner, it is not as aggressive as most bamboos. It makes a dense forming screen.

The “#” size refers to the size container the plant is grown in. The smaller the #, the smaller the size container. Younger plants will be in the smaller “#” sizes. A #1 size is the smallest size we grow in and will have the youngest plants. These are generally 1-2 years old. A #5 container is the largest size that we ship UPS and will have the largest, most established plants. These are generally 3-5 years old. These are the traditional gallon size containers.
