Acer palmatum dissectum ‘Virides’ Acer palmatum dissectum ‘Virides’  (Ay-ser  pahl-MAY-tum die-sect-um)

Strongly weeping, green dissectum growing to 4′ high and wide.  Fall color ranges  from yellow to golden to flame orange.  Probably there are many different forms of ‘Virides’.  Foliage is seven to nine lobed,  deeply cut dissectum.  Some summer shade will prevent sun burn and enhance color.  Can take full sun, but would do well with some shade. Prefers well drained,  moist soils.  The picture to the left was taken in the fall, its normal summer color is green.

Die-sect-um at-ro-pur-PURR-ee-um )
This name probably covers many different clones.
Our clone, like most, comes out red, similar to a ‘Crimson Queen’, or ‘Ever Red’, then fades to green in summer, regardless as to whether it is in full sun or deep shade.  New growth is red through out the growing season.  Foliage stays fresher looking in the shade.  Nice yellow orange fall color. Mature height to 4′-6′, under ideal growing conditions.   Can take full sun, but would do well with some shade. Prefers well drained,  moist soils.
