Fargesia nitida ‘Nanping’
Common Name: Blue Fountain, Hardy Blue fountain
Th Blue Fountain bamboo is a very nice, new introduction from the Western Chinese province of Sichuan.  This rare,  new cultivar of the Fargesia ‘Nitida’ grows very similar to the species, with the exceptions of an iridescent shine to the foliage and its more open growth habit.  The ‘Nanping will grow to about 12′-15′ tall.  It is very hardy, down to -20f.  This vigorous bamboo makes an attractive evergreen specimen or when grouped,  creates an excellent hedge.
