Acer palmatum (Ay-ser pahl-MAY-tum) ‘Butterfly’
Silver/green variegated shrub to 10′, upright with stiff branching. Small, 5 lobe leaf. Pink/red fall color. An ideal tree for small gardens. Possibly dates back to 1882 as ‘Kocho nishiki’. Can take full sun, but would do well with some shade. Prefers well drained, moist soils.
Synonyms: ’Kocho nishiki’.
