Sugar Maple
Widely distributed in North America. The true Sugar maple is used to make maple syrup. A large, upright oval to rounded tree growing to 60′-70′ by 40′; slow to medium growing tree. Leaves are 3″-6″, with 3-5 lobed. Dark green summer leaves fade to orange and yellow, with some reds. The Sugar Maple makes a large shade or lawn tree. Easily grown from fresh seed.

Habit: Upright tree to 100′, though much smaller under cultivation.

Flowers: Pale yelow, before leafing out.
