We love this clumping bamboo (non-running) here at the nursery. It is a vigorous and hardy grower. It can grow to 4'-6' tall in just a couple of years.  If you were to have only one bamboo plant, this might be it. It’s extremely hardy to -10º f to -20º f and in cooler climates, it takes full sun too. We can get over 100º f for many days straight in the summer.  Purple red sheaths on new culms. Very vigorous, rapid growth and cold hardy. Dense, slightly weeping habit. Wind tolerant. Prefers organic soils with good drainage.
