Semiarundinaria Fastuosa 'Temple' Bamboo
Temple Bamboo is a tall, erect, columnar growing plant, to almost 35′, making it a great selection for narrow areas. Most of the foliage is on the top 1/2 to 1/3 of the culm, allowing a great view of the incredible colored culms. Temple Bamboo has green culms, but as they age they turn to purple/brown to almost brick red. Color is greatly enhanced by the dropping temperatures in the Fall, especially when it is near freezing. Although a runner, it is not as aggressive as most bamboos. It makes a dense forming screen.
