Fargesia Denudata Bamboo
A very cold hardy clumping (non running) bamboo, down to -10f. This is a great bamboo for those who live in the northern tier of the US. It tolerates deep shade, but can take morning sun with afternoon shade. It has a nice, graceful, arching habit, making it look almost like a weeping bamboo. The Fargesia denudata is perhaps one of the least known Fargesia. It is similar to the Fargesia murielae, but with smaller foliage.
High heat mixed with high humidity would probably be fatal for the Fargesia , so this might not be a plant for those in the southeast states. Try instead, any of our Bambusa multiplex or Thamnocalamus.
