Syringa Villosa Korean Lilac

The Korean Lilac is easily grown in average, well-drained soil in full sun. It tolerates light shade, but  will bloom best in full sun. Lilacs prefer organically rich, moist, slightly acidic soils with good drainage. Syringa villosa is a dense bushy lilac, with erect branches. Foliage is dark green. It will bloom prolifically in late spring to early summer with large fragrant, pink-purple flowers up to 8" long. It will grow into a beautiful specimen shrub for your landscaping. This is a great plant for northern regions of the U.S. as it is hardy to -30f to -40f.  Grows as a multi trunk shrub, but can be pruned to a single trunk tree if desired.
