Phyllostachys Aureosulcata 'Lama Temple' Bamboo
This is a very rare form of the Phyllostachys aureosulcata or Crookstem Bamboo. Its canes are the brightest golden color of any Crookstem. If given 4-5 hours of direct sun light, the new canes in the Spring will turn to a mahogany red color for a few months and eventually fade to golden yellow. Like any Crookstem, it can tolerate a shady growing area however the culm (cane) color will look best when planted in a sunny location. An occasional green stripe may be seen on the culms.
