Phyllostachys Kwangsiensis Bamboo

The kwangsiensis has a upright growing habit with tightly packed culms (canes). Its green culms fade to a yellow/brown color. Often compared to the Phyllostachys edulis or Moso. It has soft, velvety new culms. Grows to full size fairly fast.

Height x Diameter:  Ht. 30’x3”.
Minimum temperature:  Hardy to 0° F.
USDA zone 7-10
Light: Full sun to part shade.
Culm:  New canes are soft and velvety green.
Uses:  Hedge, screen, container, grove.
Distribution:Hunan, Guangxi China.
Spread: Running.


The last photo is an example of a #1 (1 gallon) Phyllostachys kwangsiensis, however, it is not the exact plant that you will receive. Your plant will be approximately 1-2 years old,  1'-3' tall, with 1-3 culms (canes).
