Thamnocalamus Tessellatus

This is a great bamboo if you have a hot, sunny location.  It’s a mountain bamboo from South Africa.  It is one of the more sun tolerant clumping bamboo.   Very hardy, down to 5ºf, wind resistant and can take coastal conditions.  Prefers moist areas. Bergbamboes makes an excellent, thick, tight clump with an upright habit. Makes a good screen or specimen.
