Phyllostachys aurea ‘Holochrysa’  Golden Bamboo

The 'Holochrysa' is actually the true “Golden bamboo” due to it golden yellow culms. The regular Golden Bamboo, Phyllostachys aurea, is actually greener in color, only changing to gold if it is exposed to sun. The lower internodes on mature 'Holochrysa' bamboo tend to become distorted and compact with age. It makes a great screen, as it is a rigid and upright grower. It makes a dense, full screen that is great for privacy hedges.  It is very hardy as it is cold, heat, and drought tolerant.
